Hi there! My name is Amy Armistead and I have the coolest job ever. My passion is forming meaningful and authentic community to connect with God and others. I deeply believe that a relationship with God can not be separated from love and care of neighbor. The Gathering Place is deeply committed to serving community and acts of justice. We also have been thoughtful around holding space for those who have deconstructed their faith and are trying to put the pieces back together.
I'm originally from Fort Lauderdale, Florida but spent time in Alabama both pastoring and serving with an organization that tackled poverty alleviation through community building. I went to Florida Southern College (go Mocs!) and majored in Communication and graduated from Duke Divinity with a Masters in Divinity, where I met my husband Macon.
I’m a people person, and would love to grab coffee with you! A perfect day would look like brunch with friends and a farmer’s market, a delicious cup of Cuban coffee, and a night of local theater. We have a dog named Nora and we’re obsessed with her.

EMAIL: marmistead@firstunited.orgMusic is one of my greatest passions, so I am excited and humbled to serve as the Worship Leader for The Gathering Place. I also serve as the Ministry Coordinator for The Gathering Place, which speaks to my love of organization, systems, and building teams. Needless to say, this role feels like a perfect fit!
But what's even better is that I get to serve alongside my wife, Amy, who is the Pastor of The Gathering Place. We met in seminary and were married in 2019, then moved to Florida the next year. After years of serving apart, I am excited for this new chapter of being in ministry together.
Originally from north Alabama, I have a Bachelor degree in ministry from Huntingdon College in Montgomery, AL and my Master of Divinity is from Duke Divinity School. Before moving to Florida, I served at Huntingdon College as the director of a summer youth academy for high school and college students discerning calls to ministry.
I am a provisional deacon in the Florida Conference and I'm also a spiritual director. Outside of work, you can find me at the beach, performing or directing in local theatre productions, or dealing with our anxious dog, Nora, during our many Florida thunderstorms.

EMAIL: brobinson@firstunited.orgI have had the pleasure of working at First United for 5+ years after a career in association management and have lived in Ormond Beach for 12 years. I am originally from Sarasota and attended Florida Southern College, where I met my wife Kristin. I love sports, all kinds of sports but especially enjoy watching baseball and coaching my son’s competitive team. In my spare time not spent at sporting events, I enjoy the outdoors, paddle-boarding, the beach and running. I am especially proud of my 2 children Brody and Reece.

I am a senior at the great Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach. I am studying Psychology to then pursue my Master’s. My purpose in life is to empower young minds and help them find their voice.I was born in Cape Coral, Florida and from there I moved to Lake Wales, Florida where I graduated from Lake Wales High School. I completed my first two year of college at Warner University. My college experience has helped me find my path in how I could best be an impact in my community.
I enjoy listening to music, spending time in nature, and cooking. My hobbies are being in my happy places, and I also find happiness within my community. I am a big family person. I love spending time with my family and enjoying their presence. Part of my family are people that I’ve met along my college career that I will forever hold close to my heart. I love to pour into people and put a smile on everyone’s faces and share a laugh.
